Image: Sembcorp.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Singapore-based Sembcorp group\u00a0has acquired\u00a0a 100% stake in\u00a0ReNew\u00a0Sun Bright\u2014the owner and operator of a 300MW solar project in India\u2014for\u00a0approximately SGD246\u00a0million\u00a0(US$191.6 million) through its wholly owned subsidiary, Sembcorp Green Infra.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The 300MW solar project,\u00a0located\u00a0in\u00a0Fatehgarh, Rajasthan, began commercial operations in November 2021. The project is connected to India\u2019s national grid via the Inter-State Transmission System (ISTS) and power generated is sold through a 25-year power purchase agreement (PPA) to the Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Company Limited (MSEDCL).\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.pv-tech.org\/sembcorp-to-acquire-renews-300mw-solar-unit-for-us246-million\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">When the deal was first announced in October 2025<\/a>, the company said the deal would be funded through a mixture of internal cash resources and external borrowings.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Following the transaction, Sembcorp\u2019s installed and under-construction renewable energy capacity in India has surpassed 7.6GW. Globally, the company\u2019s renewables portfolio stands at 20.2GW, including projects yet to reach completion.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Sembcorp has solar assets installed and under development across multiple markets, led by India, alongside China, Singapore, Vietnam, Oman,&nbsp;Indonesia&nbsp;and the Philippines. The company also&nbsp;operates&nbsp;renewable energy assets in the UK,&nbsp;Bangladesh&nbsp;and Australia, and has a solar and wind development pipeline of more than 4GW in India.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Recently,&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.pv-tech.org\/reliance-nu-energies-secures-350mw-solar-and-175mw-700mwh-bess-project-in-sjvn-tender\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">the company received a letter of award from Indian public sector power firm&nbsp;Satluj&nbsp;Jal Vidyut Nigam (SJVN)<\/a>&nbsp;for 150MW of solar power and a 300MWh battery energy storage system (BESS).
