Image: CPV Renewable Power.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>CPV Renewable Power and\u00a0Harrison Street Asset Management (HSAM)\u00a0have begun\u00a0commercial operations at\u00a0their\u00a0160MW solar project\u00a0located\u00a0in Garrett County, Maryland.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The CPV Backbone Solar project is\u00a0located\u00a0on a reclaimed, decommissioned coal mine site. The project was constructed by Vanguard Energy Partners and began construction in\u00a02020. CPV stated it has worked closely with local stakeholders throughout development to deliver long-term benefits to Garrett County.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cAt CPV, we look for ways to invest in energy communities where our projects can have the greatest impact. Garrett County provided the necessary criteria for us to bring CPV Backbone Solar to Western Maryland,\u201d said Mike&nbsp;Resca,&nbsp;executive vice president&nbsp;of CPV Renewable Power. \u201cThis project adds significant tax revenue to Garrett County, and we look forward to being partners for years to come.\u201d&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The project adds to CPV\u2019s portfolio of four operating wind and solar projects, alongside a development pipeline of 4.8GW. Construction has also begun on a second phase, which is expected to increase the site\u2019s total installed capacity to 175MW.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>CPV Group, owned by OPC Energy, develops and&nbsp;operates&nbsp;power generation and renewable projects across the US.
