LONGi has participated in the \u2018Sustainable Business Global Tour\u2019 in the Kenyan capital Nairobi, an event co-hosted by, among others, the Sustainable Business Leaders Forum (SBLF) and the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP). \u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

As the sole representative of China\u2019s PV sector, the company engaged in exchanges with multiple partners on building a sustainable brand, its featured story of  “Lighting Up Africa” being selected as a relevant case study by the committee.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

LONGi Director of Global Branding Floria Wang introduced two of its African projects to  attendees.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In 2024, LONGi installed a 0.86-kilowatt rooftop solar system in Linga Linga, Mozambique, providing clean water for a local maternity clinic. By turning sunlight into electricity for water pumping, the clinic now has a steady, safe water supply. Nurses at the clinic report fewer infection risks, mothers feel safer and 150 babies have been delivered with reliable access to clean water.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In Malawi, many rural schools still operate without electricity, which makes it difficult for children to study and for teachers to support them. To help address this situation, the company  provided a container of solar panels to 12 schools and nearby villages, bringing stable green electricity to their classrooms.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

As of the end of 2024, LONGi had shipped more than 500 GW of solar wafers\u2014enough to power roughly a quarter of the world\u2019s cumulative PV installations. These systems have generated over 2.6 million GWh of clean electricity and eliminated 1.2 billion tons of CO\u2082 emissions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Beyond the numbers, they represent millions of households gaining light, thousands of clinics gaining stability, and communities gaining the dignity that comes with reliable access to energy, Wang explained, emphasizing the company\u2019s achievements in the African region, including a distributed solar project at the University of Nairobi in 2023.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Following the event, the outcomes of a \u2018Guide on Building a Sustainable Brand\u2019 were officially released, alongside the convening of the 2025 Sustainable Entrepreneurs Forum. During the forum, LONGi Technical Solution Manager Noah Lukeya shared the company\u2019s business philosophy of goodwill and the process of realizing commercial value and its commitment to integrating the concept of sustainable development into the company’s strategy and operations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
